Veneers

What are veneers?

Dental veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite resin that are custom made to fit over teeth, providing a natural, attractive look.

What can veneers be used for?

They can be used to fix chipped, stained, misaligned, worn down, uneven or abnormally spaced teeth.

What are the benefits of having veneers?

They are usually a less intrusive option than crowns and can be used to close gaps or correct small misalignments. Patients also choose veneers as a cosmetic solution to enhance the brightness of their teeth and to straighten their smile, correcting issues like discoloration, fractures, or chips.

What material is used for veneers?

The most commonly used material for veneers is porcelain but today’s superior composite filling materials can also be used for the same purpose which can cut down on the cost and the number of visits involved. The typical process takes one or two appointments in addition to your initial consultation and record taking.

Can I have veneers?

Veneers can be an irreversible treatment, so having them placed is a big decision. Before you and your dentist decide the procedure is right for you, it is important to have the right information about veneers, their cost and how best to care for them.

Keep in mind that veneers will need to be replaced at some point, no matter how well you take care of them. But proper oral hygiene will help them last as long as possible. We would suggest brushing and flossing just as you would your regular teeth.

If you're deciding on veneers, consult with your dentist and be sure you understand every part of the process and cost. A beautiful smile feels great and can increase both your confidence and well-being.

This was Bita’s first ever Smile Design case and look how beautiful and healthy it looks 12 YEARS LATER! If that’s not sustainable dentistry then we don’t know what is! ⁣

⁣This lovely patient had a set of veneers to improve the looks of gaps that were a result of gum disease. Once the team got the gum disease and oral hygiene under control, we proceeded with the veneers.⁣

⁣What does Smile Design entail? ⁣In brief, it is very much teamwork between patient, lab and dentist. We work towards PERSONALISED RESULTS. Initial impressions are taken, the lab casts and does a mockwax up that we show and discuss with you; for example shade, shape, re conturing the gum with laser where possible. You are always informed and fully on board the journey towards your perfect smile. ⁣
